World Reflexology Week 2010

On Saturday, 25th September a group of Bath reflexologists got together to offer free taster sessions to people in the city.

We went into the Farmer's Market and to the city centre, in pairs carrying flyers and the AoR balloons, supplied with the World Reflexology Week pack from the Association of Reflexologists (AoR). The pack also included some very helpful ideas for planning the day and useful posters and charts. The posters, giving the date and time of the event were put up around the city. We had a good uptake and were 'run off our feet' from mid morning until after lunch. Then we had a quiet time with only the odd person, but it picked up again after an hour or so and we were all working until we finished in the late afternoon.

We agreed it had been a fun day and successful. Everyone who came was very appreciative. One person came out of the treatment area and promptly rang quite a few of her friends to tell them about it!

It was great to work together as a team rather than in isolation and we had a chance, in the lull after lunch, to pool ideas for improving it next year. The last person to leave was our star client of 88 years of age; between us we had treated three generations of her family that day!

We were very grateful for the use of the Abundant Life Wellness Centre, which is in a good strategic position in town and so was perfect for the day.

Many thanks to the team: Julie Beale, Ann Brain, Diane Hine, Emma Naysmith, Elena Wilde and Rosalind Oxenford.
